SOME NOTES ON THE DETERMINATION OF INITIAL FRAGMENT VELOCITY BY THE MOVING PICTURE CAMERA METHOD

Abstract

An evaluation was made of some of the errors inherent in the measurement of fragment velocity by the moving picture camera method. Errors due to the framing of the camera record are treated in detail. The optimum flash distance for which the error variance in the average initial fragment velocity is a minimum is estimated.
