A SHORT SUMMARY OF THE STRUCTURAL DYNAMICS RESEARCH CARRIED OUT AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF THE OFFICE OF NAVAL RESEARCH

Abstract

Brief summaries are given of the 18 technical reports which describes the work accomplished. These reports are divided into groups containing the following phases of research: the moving loads on beams, the bilinear restoring force system, hydrodynamics of cylindrical containers, and the phase-plane methods. Two additional reports concern steady forced vibrations of a nonconservative system with variable mass, and a comparative study of pulse and step-type loads on a simple vibratory system.
