THE OXYGEN-CARBON DIOXIDE DIAGRAM

Abstract

An O2-CO2 diagram is given which is useful in charting and predicting O2 and CO2 tension, blood gas content, blood pH, respiratory exchange ratios, and alveolar ventilation as a function of changes of one or more parameters which may be encountered under various physiological stresses such as high altitude. The applications of this diagram are illustrated.
