DEVELOPMENT OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTS FOR LAMINATED GUNSTOCK BLANKS

Abstract

A statistical analysis of data obtained from ultrasonic transmissions indicated that the significant difference which existed between the mean values of the outermost levels of transmission and the inner levels in void areas were caused by energy reflections from the edges of the voids. The possible use of this method to detect glue-line void areas was indicated.
