Abstract
Research comprised a meteorological evaluation, an evaluation of the utilization and adequacies of winter clothing for the US Army in Korea; a pre- exposure survey of combat troops; the epidemiology of frostbite; a clinical evaluation of frostbite; the treatment of third degree frostbite by skin grafting; foot conditions in the several types of bootgear under combat conditions; a study of the personality traits of frostbite casualties; a bacteriological, mycological, and pathological evaluation of frostbite; foot- sweat studies on frostbite casualties; cold hemagglutination study; the ascorbic acid status of normal soldiers and frostbite casualties; the significance of the sickling trait in negro frostbite casualties; protein studies on frostbite patients; and cold stress studies on post-frostbite patients; including skin color and temperature changes.
