PLANKTON VOLUME DISPLACEMENT INDICATOR

Abstract

An instrument is described for measuring displacement volumes of plankton in the laboratory. Due to more efficient draining, the volumes obtained are 30 to 40 percent lower than those achieved using the conventional methods. Results are easily duplicated, requiring only l% minutes for the complete operation. Organisms are handled in a water medium--lessening the possibility of damage and allowing for future positive identification of specimens.
