TENSILE AND TENSILE FATIGUE PROPERTIES OF TRANSPARENT ENCLOSURE ATTACHMENTS FOR AIRCRAFT

Abstract

Sixteen types of edge attachments, ten of laminated material and six of monolithic material were designed. These sixteen types were of one geometric configuration for each monlithic and laminated material. They represent a cross sectional picture of the combinations of currently available transparent materials and edge attaching materials. All were fabricated and tested for tensile strength at room temperature and at -65 degrees F, and for tensile-fatigue at room temperature. (Author, modified-PL).
