Reflaxiconic (Reflective) Collimator.

Abstract

The patent application describes a reflecting type collimator including a first, inner conical mirror located on the central axis of the collimator and disposed in the path of, and reflecting a divergent incident light beam in a radially outward direction; a second, outer, concentrically-arranged, truncated conical mirror receiving, dividing and reflecting the radially-outward directed light beam into a hollow cylinder configuration to the rear; a third, outer, concentrically-arranged, truncated conical mirror receiving and reflecting the hollow cylindrical-light beam radially inward towards the collimator-central axis; and a fourth, conical mirror located on the collimator-central axis, and receiving and reflecting the light beam being radially inwardly directed thereto into a recombined, solid and collimated or parallel beam emerging from the rear of the collimator.
