Optical Filter Text Reader Study

Abstract

The use of aperture-stops to perform general two-dimensional, linear, filtering operations is described. This theory was applied to the problem of building an automatic print reader. A breadboard model was built and used to demonstrate the feasibility of this method of print reading.
