ANALYSIS OF RADIOLOGICAL DECONTAMINATION DATA OBTAINED FROM FIELD TESTS

Abstract

Reclamation data from Operation Plumbbob are used to illustrate a method of treating and analyzing such data obtained in field-test experiments. The method utilizes available radiation-scattering computations to estimate the contribution of radiation sources outside reclaimed areas to the radiation field inside the areas. These contributions are then subtraced to determine a more accurate value of the true effectiveness of thbe reclamation procedure or procedures.
