A survey of european activities in digital computer technology is presented in four parts: (1) an introduction; (2) details of some important technological developments under way; (3) a description of the current activities of each organization visited, including details of computers and other products; and (4) a series of charts comparing the characteristics of european computer systems. the technological developments include fixed high- speed memories, magnetic thin films, random-access memories, pattern recognition, learning machines, hydraulic logic, and problem-oriented languages
