Abstract

ISENTROPIC PRESSURE-DENSITY CURVES FOR ARGON WERE OBTAINED FROM MEASUREMENTS ON THE RAPID EXPANSION OF THE GAS BEHIND A PISTON. RESULTS ARE GIVEN FOR CASES WHEN THE ARGON WAS INITIALLY AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND AT PRESSURES OF FROM 400 TO 900 ATMOSPHERES. THE AGREEMENT WITH EQUILIBRIUM DATA IS
