FUNDAMENTAL CORROSION RESEARCH

Abstract

Part I of this report includes a detailed discussion of the completed study of stress-corrosion cracking of the magnesium-base, J-1, alloy. Part II presents a summary of the incomplete work on the stress corrosion of austenitic stainless steel by 400 F chloride containing waters and, in particular, the role of corrosion product in the stress-corrosion mechanism. A list of the quarterly reports and technical publications resulting under this study is cited.
