POINTED VERTICES IN THE YIELD SURFACE II

Abstract

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS IN THE THEORY OF PLASTICITY IS WHETHER POINTED VERTICES IN THE YIELD SURFACE EXIST AND IF THEY EXIST WHETHER THEY ARE CARRIED BY THE LOADING POINT. Although work was done concerning the existence of pointed vertices, no attempt was made to evaluate the size of these vertices. Theoretical considerations are given by means of which it is possible from experimental data to give an estimate of the size of the vertices. (Author)
