DETECTABILITY ON A PPI SCOPE AS A FUNCTION OF TARGET VELOCITY AND NOISE LEVEL

Abstract

The manner in which target detectability on a PPI (Plan Position Indicator) radar scope is influenced by tactical events such as target speed and jamming (visual noise) level was determined. In addition, the relationship was determined between detection scores obtained during a brief training phase and the performance of the radar observers during a subsequent test phase. (Author)
