ROLLING OF TITANIUM STRIP FROM POWDER

Abstract

The results of a study on the rolling of Ti strip from powder are reported. The Ti powder used was prepared at a pilot plant and consisted of commerically pure titanium. Particle size was 10 microns for no less than 90% of the total composition. Impurity content did not exceed 0.25% O, 0.01% H, 0.08% N, 0.50% Fe plus Ni, 0.08% Si, and 0.05% carbon. Rolling was done on a two-high reversible mill. Roll diameter was 120 mm and maximum body length, 350 mm. (Author)
