AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE SUMOTO EFFECT

Abstract

The rising of a dielectric liquid along high voltage electrodes that are dipped into it is investigated. Qualitative results are given for a number of different combinations of electrode material and liquid. The effects observed for molybdenum-acetone systems, excited by low frequency applied voltage are discussed in detail. (Author)
