CRYSTAL FILTERS

Abstract

A study is presented that shows how to determine theoretically, in advance, and with sufficient accuracy the response characteristic of a filter using the inductively coupled lattice equivalent. Methods of computation of the attenuation characteristic of the inductively coupled lattice equivalent are established. Elements with finite Q factors including the crystals are considered in these computations in order to approach as much as possible the characteristics of an actual filter. The computed results are plotted and compared with experimental data. The effect of the presence of spurious responses of the crystals on the response characteristic of the filter is studied in detail and figures helping specify the crystals are given. (Author)
