DESULFURIZATION OF ENGINE (JET) FUELS FROM SECOND BAKU CRUDES BY MEANS OF HYDROGENATION

Abstract

The articles deal with the hydrofining of sulfur- and resin-rich Second Baku crudes and distillates obtained by cracking the distillation residues of these crudes. Attempts to improve these materials can be traced throughout Soviet literature on petroleum processing. Some previously published data on the development of a special hydrofining installation employing the cobalto-alumo-molybdenum catalyst are noted; the manufacture of this catalyst is also described.A larger number of articles on combined cracking and hydrogenation treatment of Second Baku crudes and their products were published during 1959 in Khimiya i tekhnologiya topliv i masel and Akademiya nauk SSSR. Institut nefti. Trudy, v. 13. (Author)
