ANALYSIS OF THE INTERACTION BETWEEN A MEASURING PROBE AND A REFLECTOR

Abstract

The effect of the interaction between the reflector edge, and/or the reflector, and the probe antenna on the measuring signal was investigated. The analysis was based on the reciprocity theorem for two antennas, with the use of the solutions mentioned in the following. The diffraction of a dipole field by a conducting half plane in a parallel plate region was studied by the method based on the Wiener-HNAS, *Diffraction, Differentialrement, *Antecattering, Analysis, Reflectors, The effect of the interaction between the reflector edge, and/or the reflector, and the probe antenna on the measuring signal was investigated. The analysis was based on the reciprocity theorem for two antennas, with the use of the solutions mentioned in the following. The diffraction of a dipole field by a conducting half plane in a parallel plate region was studied by the method based on the Wiener-Hopf technique. A solution to the above problem that is suitable for the present purpose was obtained. The induced current on the surface of a prolate spheroid due to a uniform applied field was investigated, the purpose being to obtain an estimate of the current distribution on a probe antenna. que to estimate the relative error between the observed signal and the actual field in the absence of the probe, as a function of the probe parameter, was developed and some numerical examples evaluated.
