HONEYCOMB SANDWICH CONSTRUCTION PRACTICE USING LIGHT ALLOYS

Abstract

Manufacturing methods for sandwich structures are reviewed and discussed. Topics covered include: safety in service, and ways of achieving this; fatigue problems; sampling of structures (taking into account the stresses to which the honeycomb is subjected); and future prospects for sandwich construction in relation to kinetic heating problems.
