FERRITE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

HIGH-EFFICIENCY Mn-Zn FERRITES: In the triaxial system Fe2O3-MnO-ZnO, test series MF-6813 was investigated for the purpose of delineating more closely the area of compositions having high mu sub o(Q) (at 100 kc) and minimal change of mu sub o with changing temperature in the range -65 C to 125 C. Comparisons to composition MF4373-A are made. TEMPERATURE-STABLE MATERIALS IN THE 2-21 MC RANGE: Formula MF-5493, was used as the base material in order to compare the effect of additions other than cobalt oxide with the effect of the cobalt oxide addition and no additions at all. Of all the various oxides, added in the amount of 0.25 wt-%, cobalt oxide again proved to be most effective in lowering the delta mu sub o vs temperature, and increasing and stabilizing Q over the frequency range 2 to 12 mc (measurements made at 5 and 10 mc). ZEROFIELD FERRITES 20 TO 70 MC: More detailed studies have been made on material MF-6784, which has a Q of 60, a mu sub o of 38 at 75 mc, and a delta mu sub o/(mu sub o) delta T of less than 800 ppm through the temperature range -65 to 100 C.
