MAGNESIUM ALLOY AIRFRAME

Abstract

Calculations based on the Floturn principle were completed of the configuration of the complete third operation for forming the HK31A Mg alloy component. A flat blank is used and 4 operations are considered necessary to form the completed part. The first 3 operations will combine Floturn and spinning techniques. The fourth operation will use only the Floturn technique. The calculations were extended to the configuration from station 8.5 to station 23 for the second and first operations.
