AN ANALYSIS OF THE CURVES DESCRIBING DECAY PHENOMENA

Abstract

A tudy was ade to determine the equations of analytic curves that closely mach the experimental urves obtained upon measurements of decay proceses. A method is decribed for matching experimental decay curves. The crve is assumed to be a solution to a pcular differenial equation dx/dt equals the product of -A and x to the power of k and the values of k and A are determined in a unique manner from the experimental data. The plot of this equation, with the values of k and A so determined, yields a curve that matches the experimental curve very closely. The method will be generally useful to others who encounter this type of problem. (ATHOR)
