TESTING OF ENGINES FOR FUTURE SPACE VEHICLES

Abstract

A test station where new types of engines for space vehicles are tested is described. The correspondent, Ya. Golovanov, remarks that he had already witnessed the testing of a number of other machines, including turbines and ship engines. This was his first visit, however, to a test station for space-vehicle engines. A description is given of the test station from the point of view of an astonished observer who watched these unusual tests and listened to explanations by a station engineer. Information taken from his description which may be significant is presented. (Author)
