Investigation of Serviceability Criteria for Used Anti-Friction Bearings.

Abstract

An economical and rapid non-destructive method of testing used bearings to determine if they could be returned to service was developed. Factors, influencing additional service of assembled bearings which could be determined nondestructively, were investigated and a vibrational testing machine to evaluate critical factors was developed. The testing equipment signals, by both light and sound, when critical values are exceeded. (Author)
