THE ENERGY EQUATION OF ATMOSPHERIC MOTIONS IN THE FREQUENCY DOMAIN

Abstract

The energy equation of atmospheric motions in the frequency domain is derived by means of Fourier transformation. The spectral equation so derived contains various terms that influence the statistical energy spectrum of atmospheric motions. The physical meanings of these terms are fully discussed. (Author)
