ALLOYS OF TRANSITION-METAL BORIDES WITH OTHER METALS

Abstract

The properties of alloys of the pseudobinary systems ZrB2-Mo, TiB2-Mo, CrB2-Mo, TiB2-Cr, and ZrB2-Cr have been studied by the visual thermalANALYSIS METHOD, THE TAKING OF SHRINKAGE CURVES, THE DETERMINATION OF THE MELTING POINTS, THE MEASUREMENTS OF THE MICRO- AND MACRO-HARDNESS OF THE PHASES, AND BY METALLOGRAPHIC AND RADIOGRAPHIC EXAMINATIONS. Hypothetical phase diagrams of the alloys ZrB2-Mo, TiB2-Mo, CrB2-Mo, TiB2-Cr, and ZrB2-Cr were constructed. (Author)
