PRELIMINARY MECHANICAL-PROPERTY DATA FOR SPECIMENS OF LADISH D-6AC STEEL FROM MINUTEMAN CHAMBERS THAT FAILED DURING STRUCTURAL TESTS

Abstract

An investigation was made of the mechanical properties of specimens of Ladish D6ac steel from flight-weight Minuteman chambers that failed during hydrostatic and other structural tests. The tests were designed to simulate in-flight loads and temperature conditions and were made in accordance with the design development program and the confirmation test program (GTM-002 test program).
