AN OBJECTIVE AID FOR FORECASTING STRONG AND GUSTY SURFACE WINDS AT TRAVIS AFB, CALIFORNIA

Abstract

Work concerned the forecasting of strong southwesterly surface winds with accompanying gusts of 25 knots or greater during the months of March through October. Due to the seasonal variations in the weather regimes, it was found necessary to divide the data into two seasons-March through June and July through October. (Author)
