THE THERMOELECTRIC COOLING OF PHOTOMULTIPLIERS

Abstract

Semiconductor devices for cooling photomultipliers are described. Results are presented of testing a detector with semiconductor cooling in a photomultiplier of the FEU-11 type. The amplitude of noise is reduced 2.5 times when the temperature falls from 24 to -5 C. (Author)
