ANOMALOUS LATTICE SPECIFIC HEAT OF SUPER-CONDUCTORS

Abstract

The purpose of the present analysis is to emphasize that the specific heat anomaly is clear and unmistakable evidence for an anomalous dispersion in the phonon spectrum of the superconducting state. The a priori basis of such a dispersion is indicated, and it is shown that it gives a good quantitative account of the data. Several straightforward experimental tests of the theory is proposed.
