STUDY OF THE POTENTIAL WELL PRODUCED BY ELECTRON MULTIPACTING

Abstract

The problem being studied is the production of a deep and stable three dimensional potential well produced by electron multipacting. Because unexpectedly low total electron multipacting currents were obtained a more thorough study of the multipacting process involving a computer program was iniated. Study of a new low frequency phenomenon was allowed because of its close association with the potential well mechanism. Optical spectra have not yet been obtained from the potential well. (Author)
