INVESTIGATION OF STRESS-CORROSION CRACKING OF HIGH-STRENGTH ALLOYS

Abstract

Bent beam stress-corrosion test data are presented for Vascojet 1000 alloy steel and B120VCA Ti alloy. The steel testing environments included air, tap water, distilled water, NaCl solution, sodium dichromate solution, marqsteel, Titanium alloys, Welding, Corrosion, Stresses, Fracture (Mechanics), Mechanical properties, Corrosion inhibition, Corrosive liquids, Corrosive gases, Surface properties, Microstructure, Atmosphere. Bent beam stress-corrosion test data are presented for Vascojet 1000 alloy steel and B120VCA Ti alloy. The steel testing environments included air, tap water, distilled water, NaCl solution, sodium dichromate solution, marquench salt solution, soluble oil solution, trichloroethylene, and cosmoline. The Ti alloy was tested under similar environments. Mechanical property data are presented for AM335 stainless steel, 300M alloy steel, and PH 15-7 Mo stainless steel. Failures were encountered with the Vascojet alloy steel at 175,000 to 180,000 psi in tap water, distilled water, and the NaCl solution.
