SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC STUDIES OF AURORA

Abstract

The photometer and its most important properties are described. The signal-to-noise ratio of the photometer is given in detail. Absolute measurements of arcs and rays are analyzed. Measurements have been made on rapid variations of the aurora up to a frequency of 20 kc. The possibility of using pulse techniques for measuring spacial velocities is discussed. (Author)
