CHARGER, ELECTRIC, M-73 WEAPON HELICOPTER TURRET INSTALLATION. PANEL CONTROL

Abstract

Research was concerned with the development of an electric charger capable of performing certain operations and giving certain operating signals on a four M-73 weapon installation in a helicopter. A rack-and-gear mechanism was devised to retract the gun's barrel extension, and an intermittent duty motor was selected to operate the unit. Firing tests were made on the charger with satisfactory results.
