VIBRATIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO SPECIFIC HEAT NEAR PHASE CHANGES

Abstract

Near a phase, the interatomic forces in a solid are likely to be temperature-dependent, and the vibrational contribution to the specific heat will be affected by this. It is found that a specific heat vs temperature relationship very close to the familiar lambda point curve can be obtained by considering this effect. (Author)
