THE EXPLOITATION OF PERSONNEL DATA BY MEANS OF A MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSION MODEL

Abstract

An iterative program for determining weights in a multiple regression problem is described. Large scale regression problems can be economically computed while avoiding the problem of singularity altogether. Use of this program not only provides an effective way of obtaining weights to be used in a prediction equation, but also provides the basis for testing hypotheses. The characteristics of the computing program make it practical for the researcher to express his hunches in relatively complete detail in formulating a regression model. (Author)
