EXPLORATORY FIELD TESTS UTILIZING WIDE ANGLE VISION SYSTEMS

Abstract

An exploratory field test program was conducted to indicate appropriate test procedures and instrumentation parameters for a more comprehensive study. Results of exploratory tests were inadequate for quantitative evaluation of the two instrumented modes of observation or of the currently used open and closed hatch (vision block) modes of observation. However, the results did indicate the feasibility of the proposed research program and provided guidelines for the design of that program and for analysis of the data to be generated. (Author)
