PATHOLOGY OF CHOLERA IN CHICK EMBRYOS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF NON-SUSCEPTIBILITY

Abstract

Differential susceptibility of chick embryos between eleven and sixteen days to infections of cholera vibrios is being studied. Techniques for the processing of whole latter stage embryos have been perfected. Materials from thirty-five series of experimental chicks have been collected and are in various stages of processing or study. Study of the twenty-four hour series has been completed and preliminary study of older infections are in progress. Correlation of the development of the metanephros and shift in function from the mesanephros with susceptibility and route of entry are currently indicated. (Author)
