THE CONNECTION BETWEEN SOLAR FLARES AND PHENOMENA IN THE LOWER IONOSPHERE

Abstract

A comparison is made between solar flares and the phenomena corresponding to them in atmospherics (f equals 37 kc) and minimum frequencies (fmin) of reflections from the ionosphere during vertical soundings. The results of the quantitative connection between them are given. The problems of the effectiveness of solar flares for the above-mentioned phenomena, depending on the position of the flares on the solar disk and on the time of day, are considered. (Author)
