THE VELOCITY-VOLUME LOOP

Abstract

The breath velocity-volume (V-V) loop is introduced as a composite pulmonary function test. From two V-V loops, a tidal loop and a forced vital capacity loop, a broad analysis of pulmonary function may be made including a complete spirogram, maximum breathing capacity prediction, breath timing, breath accelerations, and reserve velocities.
