ACCEPTANCE TESTING OF A 12.5-MW CERAMIC HYDROGEN THYRATRON, VOLUME I

Abstract

Problems encountered during the acceptance-testing program on the 12.5-megawatt hydrogen thyratron are discussed, and warmup-time investigations are described. Life-test data on standard and modified-design tubes, special test data, and initial operating characteristics of tubes currently in production are presented. Ratings and test conditions from the final tube specification are also included. Manufacturing specifications and drawings of the 12.5-megawatt hydrogen thyratron are presented in AD-258 649.
