DEVELOPMENT OF TWO HIGH TEMPERATURE BLOWER UNITS.

Abstract

The hearing constructions described in the preceding Progress Report have been evaluated. Two samples using special bearings from MRC operated for 1200 and 1240 hours respectively under approximately rated conditions. Failure occurred due to evaporation of lubricant, which suggested further improvements. The Bartemp bearings which have hitherto been most promising performed disappointingly for reasons described in the test. Four prototype units for life test evaluation and environmental testing are undergoing assembly. (Author)
