STUDY OF HEAT TRANSFER IN A DEAD-END CHANNEL UNDER FREE CONVECTION CONDITIONS

Abstract

Results of theoretical and experimental research on the effect of flow and heat exchange in a dead-end channel, whih is present in the field of activity of centrifugal forces, are given. Theoretical equations were obtained by 2 methods: (1) on the basis of analysis of the system of differential equations which describes the effect of heat transfer by the method of the theory of similitude and dimension; and (2) on the basis of solution of the integral equations of a boundary layer. A test check-up was made on 2 stationary and 1 rotating model. Equations for heat transfer between the wall and the fluid in a dead-end channel during luminous and turbulent kinds of fluid flow, were recommended as a result of the test. (Author)
