THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF BORON TRIIODIDE

Abstract

The crystal structure of boron triiodide has been determined by the powder method. The structure is hexagonal with a = 7.00 + or -.01, c = 7.46 + or -.02 angstroms and 2 molecules per cell. The boron-iodine bond distance has been found to be 2.10 + or -.04 angstroms. (Author)
