CENTRIFUGAL PUMP FOR AMALGAM

Abstract

A description is given of a pump for the pumping of amalgam in which the principle of airtight shaft packing of original construction was employed. Data on testing shaft packing of this pump are given. The construction of shaft packing for a centrifugal pump was made for the purpose of eliminating contact between the amalgam and atmospheric air and a test was made to determine the efficiency of pump shaft packing. The obtained results were satisfactory. (Author)
