INVESTIGATION OF FORCES IN EXTRUSION OF RIBBED PANELS FROM ALUMINUM ALLOYS

Abstract

The principal parameters are defined which are necessary for analytically determining the forces necessary for the extrusion of a panel from a flat container. The forces necessary for extrusion were determined experimentally and compared with the computed values to determine the degree of accuracy of the derived formulas. The calculated values were from 7.5 to 21% greater than the forces determined experimentally.
