MICROWAVE PROPAGATION IN A CIRCUIT CONSISTING OF FOUR COUPLED LADDERS

Abstract

An analysis is presented of the propagation characteristics of multiple coupled slotted infinite planes or ladders. Such coupled ladder circuits may be useful in the millimeter wavelength region for backward-wave oscillators. From the solution of the field equations an equation describing the propagation characteristics is obtained and curves of frequency versus phase shift are presented for various arrays consisting of up to four ladder planes.
