APPROXIMATE CALCULATIONS OF SPECTRAL EMMISSIVITIES IN THE INFRARED FOR HC1 IN THE STRONG-LINE APPROXIMATION

Abstract

Spectral emissivities are computed and compared with previous data. At 600 K, the agreement is satisfactory, but there is quite a large discrepancy, particularly in the P branch, at 2400 K. For the strong-line approximation, it appears that vibration-rotation interaction and anharmonicity terms should be included in the calculation of spectral absorption coefficientsAT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES. However, for the weakline approximation, the harmonic-oscillator rigid-rotator model give ea ab e ag eement wit more elaborate numerical calculations. (Author
